It's really easy to make your own Gift Mixes and to give them as gifts! You can present your gift mixes in plastic containers such as the Tupperware (tm) Modular Mates Containers or use glass jars and small canisters.
Gourmet Brownies
2/3 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Place sugar in bottom of a Tupperware Modular Mates Super Oval Size 1 Container. Layer the remaining ingredients on top of sugar in this order: cocoa, flour mixture, pecans and chocolate chips
Attach the following instructions to your gift mix container:
When ready to prepare brownies, pour contents of the container into a large mixing bowl and blend well. Add 1/2 cup butter or margarine and 3 eggs, slightly beaten. Mix until well blended. Spread batter in a well-greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean. When cool, cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 2 dozen delicious brownies.
Gingerbread Cookie Gift Mix

2 cups sugar
1/4 cup baking powder
1 Tbs. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cloves

Sift dry ingredients and cut shortening into it with a pastry blender. Measure 3 cups into the Tupperware Modular Mates Super Oval size 1 Container. (You will need 4 containers as this makes 4 gifts).
Attach gingerbread cookie cutter and the following recipe:
Gingerbread Cookies

Combine gingerbread mix, molasses, egg and flour. Blend well. Roll to 1/4" thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut into gingerbread shapes. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Cool. Can be decorated with cinnamon candies and sprinkles & other cookie decorating goodies!
